Oracle GL - DEFINING FLEXFIELD STRUCTURE
Oracle GL - DEFINING FLEXFIELD STRUCTURE
Defining FlexField Structure
In Oracle GL, the Key Accounting Flexfield (KAFF) structure is the General Ledger's definition of the chart of accounts. The Key Accounting Flexfield Structure can be used to define a set of books, define segments for each flexfield structure, and assign a value set to each segment. In doing so, care must be taken so that one segment is defined as the natural account segment and the other is defined as a balancing segment.
Once such segment values ahve been defined, the next step is to freeze the roll-up groups. Once such freezing is done, changes cannot be made in the frozen flexfield defintion. After this the user must enable dynamic inserts or enter the account segment values. This is neccesary before same can be used in Account Code Combinations.
