I been hearing this term for a long time now "ROSI". I thought, I'll pen my ideas on it for those of you who still don't know ehat ROSI is.

ROSI stands for Return on Security Spending. ROSI is calculated to justify the investment in security. The total amount of money spent on security, should be inline with the total risk. Like a businessman calculates ROI i.e. Return on Investment which is a measure of returns a business gets on money invested, ROSI is calculated on security spending.

ROSI has gained relevance, because organzations today want to know, where they should spend their dollars, which technologies to invest and how to manage security risks in a better way. It is basically calculated to match the total risks with total security spending.
