Tip # 1 - Learn to Understand, Not to Remember !

The Certified Information Systems Auditor CISA exam is a multiple choice objective examination. There are arouund 200 mulitple choice questions which have to be completed in 4 hours. Each question has four answer answer choices. It simple means that the answer is available in the given choices.

When starting your studies for the CISA exam, try and understand the concepts first. Many candidates make the mistake of trying to remember the concepts even before understanding them. Remember ISACA will test your conceptual knowledge rather than how much you can remember. The CISA exam course content includes many concepts like cryptography, BCP, DRP, SDLC, IS audit basic concepts, etc. My personal experience says its better to understand the concepts so that when you have four answer choices, you can choose the right answer. Since the questions have four choices, a candidate just needs to choose the right answer. If a candidate has a good understanding of the basic systems auditing concepts, he is sure to pass the CISA exam. Keep watching this space. More CISA exam tips to come.
