Introduction to SAP R3 Tables
Information of any nature is stored in SAP R3 in a table. All operative application information as well as technical information controlling the SAP ABAP programs is stored in the form of relational databases. Relational databases are nothing but tables. When a user puts in a query, data from various tables is accessed and presented in the form of a report. Tables communicate with each other based on key connections. Additionally, in SAP R3 tables, data is structured according to hierarchy and organizational characteristics.
In simple words, SAP uses logical databases to form a report. Related tables are used using key connections and a report is formed in SAP R/3. It is important to understand that data of the same nature may be allocated to different tables. SAP R3 generates different views of the same data to give whart the user needs. Thus, there might be a FI Financial view of customer and an SD sales and distribution view of the customer. Even though SAP internally may be accessing similar or same tables, they are shown as seperate views to the SAP user.
