Why Implement an ERP Enterprise Resource System SAP Oracle

Why Implement an ERP Enterprise Resource System SAP Oracle

Most companies try to justify the benefits of implementing an ERP Vs the costs. The question which needs to be answered "Why should we go for an ERP?" During my interactions with most clients who are going in for an ERP, the main reason is efficient processes which can only happen with mordern internal systems. Below are responses collated from CFO / CIOs of some companies who have recently decided to go in for an ERP system. They were asked "Why go in for an ERP"?

1. No Support is available for their legacy systems. The vendors of such legacy systems, The vendor found the entire product too costly to maintain and support hence has closed shop.

2. Most legacy systems operate as seperate disparate systems. Interconnectivity is minimal. This leads to duplication of effort. Data entered in one system is required to the again re-entered other systems.

3. Data accuracy is a big issue with legacy systems. Responsibility and accountability for data and processes cannot be fixed on specific individuals.

4. To achieve efficiencies and customer satisfaction, it is important to have a system which can support managements intention of growth. To survive in competetive scenarios, it is important that system supports processes and people.
